TooMany
Last updated: October 4, 2026

TooMany organizes screenshots on your iPhone. No account is required. We do not receive your screenshot library, recognized text or generated descriptions. The app has no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.

1. Who we are

Mikhail Sterlikov is the developer of TooMany (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the app, this support website and support correspondence.

2. Information processed on your iPhone

To provide organization, search and viewing features, TooMany processes screenshot images, Photos identifiers and creation dates, recognized text, generated descriptions and labels, group membership, similarity information used to suggest duplicates, and your manual organization choices. These can contain personal or sensitive information appearing in your screenshots.

The app stores its search index, organization data, favorites, pinned groups, preferences and processing progress locally. Original screenshots remain in Apple Photos. Text recognition and AI-assisted analysis use Apple’s on-device frameworks; TooMany does not upload this content to a developer-operated server or external AI service. We do not receive or use your screenshots to train an AI model.

3. Photos permission

TooMany requests Photos access to find, display and analyze screenshots, and to delete screenshots when you choose and confirm that action. You can grant limited access or manage permission in iPhone Settings. Revoking access prevents further access to those images; it does not by itself erase text or organization already saved locally. Use Delete all app data to reset that information.

Photos stored only in iCloud may be downloaded through Apple’s services. TooMany does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts or Health access for its screenshot tools.

4. Local diagnostics

The app keeps a local activity and diagnostic log to help explain sorting and troubleshoot problems. It can include action timestamps, group or topic names, counts, processing times and error details. It is not automatically sent to us. If you choose to share a log or screenshot with support, review it first for private content.

There are no advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs in the current app. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

5. Sharing and the clipboard

When you share a screenshot, it is passed to the destination you choose in the system share sheet. When you copy text, it is placed on the system clipboard. Other apps and Apple features such as Universal Clipboard may handle that content under their own settings and policies. Review content before sharing.

6. Storage, retention and deletion

App data is kept on your iPhone until it is removed or reset. Settings → Delete all app data clears TooMany’s stored organization, text index, preferences and local activity log without deleting originals in Photos. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading may retain it.

Deleting a screenshot is a separate action: after iOS confirmation it is deleted from Photos, and deletion may sync through iCloud Photos. Apple manages Recently Deleted and recovery. Copies previously shared or saved elsewhere are not removed by TooMany.

TooMany does not operate a cloud backup or sync service. Apple device backups may contain app data depending on your settings. Backups, iCloud Photos and recipients’ copies are managed separately. We cannot access or erase your on-device library remotely.

7. Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as device details, messages, images or logs. We use this information to respond and troubleshoot, based where applicable on our legitimate interest in providing support. Please send only what is necessary.

Support email is handled through Google Gmail. We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for support, follow-up and applicable legal obligations. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent us.

8. Apple services and this website

Apple operates the App Store, TestFlight, Photos, model downloads and device backup services under its own policies. Depending on your settings, Apple may provide app statistics, diagnostics or TestFlight feedback to developers. The app’s rating prompt is handled by Apple.

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. We add no analytics scripts, advertising, tracking cookies or external fonts. GitHub may process technical information such as your IP address to serve these pages. Google, GitHub and Apple may process information outside your country under their respective policies.

Read Apple’s Privacy Policy, GitHub’s Privacy Statement and Google’s Privacy Policy.

9. Your choices and rights

You can manage Photos permission, change your organization, reset app data and choose whether to share content. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information we hold, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights. Your local screenshot library is not held by us.

10. Changes and contact

We will update this policy and its date when practices change, and provide additional notice or request consent where required.
