Getting started
- Allow access to the screenshots you want to organize.
- Make sure Apple Intelligence is available and ready on your iPhone. Let TooMany sort an initial sample, then continue with more screenshots.
- Browse groups or search, open a screenshot to read and copy its text, or share it using the system share sheet.
Frequently asked questions
Which iPhones can sort screenshots?
Automatic sorting requires a compatible iPhone running iOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence enabled and its on-device model available. Device, language and region availability also matter. TooMany explains when the model is not ready. Check Apple’s current Apple Intelligence requirements.
Why can I only see some screenshots?
With limited Photos access, TooMany sees only the screenshots you selected. Use Select more in the app or change Photos access in iPhone Settings. Images must be identified as screenshots by Photos to appear in the screenshot library.
Why does sorting take time?
Text recognition and automatic organization run on your iPhone. Large libraries are processed in batches. Keep the app open while sorting; if you leave, processing pauses and can continue when you return. Processing may pause when the phone gets warm.
Why can’t search find an older screenshot?
Search uses text and descriptions already processed by the app. Check the search coverage shown on screen and sort more screenshots if needed. Text recognition and suggested groups can be imperfect.
Can I correct a group?
Yes. Use the screenshot’s organization menu to change its group membership. You can also use Favorites and pin groups for quicker access.
Does TooMany create albums in Apple Photos?
No. TooMany’s groups and Favorites are stored inside TooMany. Organizing a screenshot does not move or edit its original in Photos.
What happens when I delete a screenshot?
Deleting screenshots from TooMany requests deletion from Apple Photos, with iOS confirmation. If you use iCloud Photos, deletion can sync to other devices. Review selections, including suggested duplicates, before confirming. Check Recently Deleted in Photos if you deleted something by mistake.
What does Delete all app data do?
It resets TooMany’s organization, recognized text, preferences and local activity log. It does not delete original screenshots from Photos. Deleting the app also removes its local data; offloading and Apple backups are managed separately. We cannot restore your organization from our servers.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No TooMany account is needed. Screenshot analysis runs on-device. Apple may need internet access to download models or screenshots stored only in iCloud. Sharing through online services, support email and website links also need a connection.
Why won’t an image load?
Check Photos access and free storage. If the image is stored in iCloud, open it in Photos and let it download, then try again with an internet connection.
Are my screenshots sent to an AI service?
TooMany uses Apple’s on-device technologies for screenshot analysis. It does not send your screenshots or recognized text to our servers or an external AI provider. See the Privacy Policy for details.
