Frequently asked questions

How should I position my phone?

Follow the placement illustration in your chosen workflow. For flat placement, keep the screen facing up and let the camera end extend just beyond the surface edge so the phone does not rock on its camera bump. For upright placement, keep the screen facing you and rest the bottom edge against the reference.

Why does the app say “Hold steady”?

The app waits for about half a second of stable alignment before confirming success. This helps prevent a brief movement through level from being mistaken for a finished adjustment.

When should I use calibration?

Calibrate only against a reference you already know is level. Setting zero on a tilted object makes that tilt the new reference; it does not verify that the object is straight. Tap Reset to remove the custom calibration.

Why can't I hear the sound cues?

Sound is off by default. Tap the speaker button on the live level screen to enable it. Sound cues respect your iPhone's silent mode and system volume, so turn silent mode off and check the volume.

How accurate is the ruler?

The on-screen ruler is intended for approximate measurements. Use a physical ruler or tape measure when exact dimensions matter.

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No. The app's tools work offline and do not require an account.

Are there ads or subscriptions?

No. The current version is free, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
